Frequently asked questions

If your question isn't here, ask us directly — we'll give you a straight answer.

What exactly is fixed wireless broadband?

We put a small aerial on your roof that talks by radio to a mast on high ground nearby. That mast is connected to a fast fibre backbone. It replaces the phone line entirely — nothing goes down the copper.

How fast is it, really?

10Mbps is what we provide and what we bill for. Unlike copper broadband, it does not fall away the further you live from the exchange or cabinet — the last house on the lane gets the same as the first.

What does it cost?

£15 per month, plus a one-off £200 set-up charge that covers the survey, aerial, cabling, router and installation. There is no line rental.

Do I need a BT phone line?

No. The connection is fully wireless, so if you only kept a landline for broadband you can cancel it.

Does bad weather knock it out?

Heavy rain and snow are normal Pennine weather and the link is engineered for it. The equipment is weather-sealed and we align the aerial with margin to spare.

How long does installation take?

Usually two to three hours on the day. We survey first, and only book the install once we know your roof can see a mast.

What if the survey says my house will not work?

You pay nothing. We will tell you straight away and point you at the alternatives on our providers page.

Is there a minimum contract?

Get in touch and we will confirm the current terms for your address before you commit to anything.

Can I use my own router?

The installation includes a router that we know works with our network. If you have kit of your own you would rather use, mention it at survey and we will talk it through.

Do you cover anywhere outside Queensbury and Thornton?

Those are the two villages we serve today. We do add masts, so it is worth asking if you are nearby — and if we cannot help, the alternatives page lists providers who might.
